We had a fairly quiet day today. We got organised in the morning and repacked all our bags and left out what we needed that day and tomorrow. We decided to finish our honeymoon with a night walk. We spent the afternoon playing pool and mage our way up early to the Dragonfly. We sat there and watched the frogs and turtles and this really big spider. After dinner we were picked up for our night walk. It was a private tour, just the two of us. We sore the most amazing things. As Follows:
Lizards: Really cool lizards covered in thick scales and had spots around their face. They wre bright blues and browns
Hudsman: These didn't look like hudsmans they where thinner and longer and lighter with white stripes all over them. They through their web to catch prey like spiderman our glides with their web to fall over their prey.
Prawns: Weird looking. Very skinny and long. The hudsman eat the prawns. They sit on the shore and throw webs at them.
Fireflies: They sparkled . Very beautiful.
Pytons: We sore two. Becky spotted the first on right next to her feet. They were both about 3 - 3.5m long and on the hunt. They were brown with huge triangles and a distinct blue shimmer to them.
Native Rat: Not like the ones here. We wouldn't have known it was a rat. It looked more like a furry marsupial. Think bilby.
Ant Encounter One: These ants look harmless but they leave a really bad smell if toushed and it is vertually impossible to get it off. Commonly the smell can linger for seven days.
Ant Encounter Two: These look like they came out of an animated film and if you licked their bottoms they tasted like lemon. Really strong.
Frog Encounter One: These had a brown trasparent colour with big protruding eyes. They closer they got to a female the yellower they got.
Frog Encounter Two: These were a dark brown with a deep red tinge to them and they made so much noise. They were tiny though and you had to look hard to see them.
Kane Toads: Wouldn't have been a trip to Queensland without seeing one. We never knew but the poison is hillousogentic. Freaky!
Spider: This spider sat on leafs and looked like bird droppings. It took a bit to see him. Insects that eat the droppings come up to the spider and the rest is history.
Owl: It didn't look like an owl, more like a possum.
Queensland Wallaby: Very cute.
Trees: These trees grow about a metre every two hundred years and some of them were really big. The ones that looked like small scubbes were about three/four hundred years old.
Our guide was a blast and he told us some very funny stories like the woman who turned up in a white prada suite and stilletos. It was a long walk her him that night.
We are looking forward to going home tomorrow and had the best honeymoon ever. We wouldn't chage a thing...
